Cesar Tlatoāni Alvarado
Title: Student Trustee

Hello, my name is César Tlatoāni Alvarado and I am running to be your next student trustee. I am a student, educator, activist, Indigenous dancer, and one language away from being a polyglot. On campus, I am in student leadership for the political science and pride or LGBTIA+ club, A national bronze medalist for our forensics or speech and debate team, an active member of MMI or minority male initiative, and A political science and linguistics major. As a student leader in the political science club, I empowered students of all backgrounds to get involved in politics, helping students get registered to vote, and am active in local activism within the county of Los Angeles. For the pride club, I promoted education and tolerance not only within the LGBTQIA+ plus community but outside as well. As a member of the LGBTQIA+, Indigenous, Latine, Mexican American, and neurodivergent communities as well as a first-generation college student. I am a person that has had many struggles because of my identity. As a member of many marginalized and underrepresented communities, I feel empowered to use my unique lived experience to advocate for marginalized communities on this campus. And importantly advocate for working toward a future where every voice is heard, and every perspective is valued and respected. My platform is centered on equity, transparency, and accountability not only for myself but also for the board of trustees. Some of the many ways that I want to improve this campus are preventing sexual violence and harassment, providing gender-neutral bathrooms, advocating for more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, improving equitable spaces on campus, providing better areas for religious students to pray on campus, mental health resources, academic support, and accessibility needs. Join me César Tlatoāni Alvarado in challenging the status quo, asking tough questions, and fighting for better. Together we can build a stronger, safer, and more just campus. Vote for trustee Tlatoāni from April 3rd to April 6th.
